Farah + Sofie

August 26th, 2008

Farah & Sofie is a sweet young couple who actually referred to me by Lana (tq ek). It was a blissfull afternoon as the event was attended by close relatives from both sides and some helpful hands from Farah’s friends. After one time meet up and great conversations over sms & email, i knew i would have a lot of fun photographing them. Sure enough, i had a good time meeting some familiar faces from previous events.

Farah & Sofie!! thanks for such a great time! happy preparing for the big day ..

Reminiscing!

August 25th, 2008

It’s been a while since my last posting. Due to back-to-back holiday, my office works are also back-to-back bertimbun besides my album-to-do and photos-to-edit parts.

Btw, this morning, i had a concise conversation with a fren (ms. ’single & available’ neri) on cartoons of our age. It started when she noticed i’ve replaced my Gtalk avatar to M.A.S.K logo. The conversation triggers me to dig up on more cartoons of the 80’s, before the arrival of cable television in our country. So here we go .. perhaps you’ll have your own list but here are my preferred ones and they are all great cartoons indeed (Mia will definately not appreciate the list)

Thundercats - Who could have forgotten Thundercats. I even had a Sword of Omen myself and Lion-O figure. I used to draw Lion-O, Jega, Pantera, Wilikit & Wilikat (spelling unsure) during my kids day. I was a pretty good drawer back then, seriously … Remember the silly song “cheetara lari laju, tertinggal baju..” and you sing it like the theme song. Also, the most memorable villain, Mambraaaa (we have our own version of Mambraa in this office, haha)

Transformers - This one need no introduction.

M.A.S.K. - I bet every kid back in the 80s know this one. The story about a special force with super powerful mask and they can actually transform into many kind of vehicles. From a red sports car into a jet .. wohooo

Voltron - Unlike Thundercats, Voltron is a Japanese cartoon series. There are five robot lions piloted by five warriors. During battle, these robots mechanically join with each other and turn themselves into Voltron. There was once, i won a drawing competition at the age of 6 (i think) by drawing this Voltron robot.

Silverhawk - It’s strange that not many people ever heard of remember this cartoon series. The story is about a team of crime fighting cyborgs to hunt for a evil criminal named Mon Star. I have this deep thought that the artist behind this series is actually the same as Thundercats because the character look very much alike but i never bother to figure it out.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle - Trained by their master, Ninjitsu, this is the story of four ‘mutanted’ turtles which named according to the four great Italian artists Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo and they loved pizza.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe - He-Man is actually a Prince that was bestowed a sword by the sorceress. He fought against Skeletor and his followers who lived in the Snake Mountain.

Macross a.k.a Robotech - Could not remember this series well but i surely like whatever cartoon that could transform into robot or jet. This Macross actually get me hooked and determined to be a pilot but too bad, i am now stuck in the office instead of fly high.

That’s enough. I have a handful more to mention but it will take forever to mention. For the sake of memory, there are Sabre Rider and The Star Sheriff, Tosho Daimos, Jem, Inspector Gadget, Smurf, She-Ra, My Little Pony, Captain Planet and the Planeteers, Toriton and the list goes on .. owhh soo reminiscing!

On another note, the other day i was watching J.L Lirik on Ass.tro and there was this guy by the name of Rudy (bukan nama sebenar .. tapi serious mcm ko Rudy!!) was in action. As you’ll know, the contestant would have to choose a song to sing and that time, Rudy was given two options, Fiona by 4u2c or Kasih Latifah by Spider. To my surprise, he picked Latifah over Fiona. I was like “damnn!! Fiona laa weyy .. senang gilee” .. After much thinking, i realized perhaps Sham was not ‘there’ during Fiona era.

khàwp khun kâ

August 8th, 2008

Phuket, was it nice? How should i say, for holidaying sake it was fun but somehow i’m a bit dissappointed with the photos taken as they were not as what i’ve been planning ahead of the trip (due to rain, hazy, cloudy etc).
But apart of that, it was indeed a fun getaway with family and colleagues.
Like i mentioned in the previous post, nothing to fancy on my pics.

- this is what i was hoping for .. a deep blue sky all over Phuket

- the hotel, notice the transformer?! they won’t allow it in that distance here in msia

- the room is huge for the price we paid

- how do they actually manage to maintain such messy livewires

- stranded inside an open cave due to heavy rains

- people taking turn for the canoe experiences

- the cave i told earlier, shot from the longboat

- the famous bond island

- the gigantic-weird rock does look near but it isn’t

- ahli rombangan having their moments at the island

- the ladies

- awesome rocks!

- a scene at the jetty

- the ahli rombongan in front of the hotel, minus hetty & co
